What Are The Advantages Of Self Employment

Are you thinking of starting your own business online?

Are you tired of working for someone else and want to be your own boss and you’re wondering what are the pros and cons of working for yourself versus working for someone else?

Well, I’ve done both and here’s my list of PROS of being self employed.

1) You Make Your Own Working Hours.

When you are self employed, you decide when you get up and what time you start working. You also take breaks when you need tchem or want them. You can start later or earlier one day and you don’t have to discuss the reasons for it in great detail with your superior, because you simply don’t have one. Also, you get to take advantage of your brain’s natural morning activity and rush.

When you work for someone else’s business, you usually have to get up at a ridiculous time in the morning. Sometimes it feels like a middle of the night. Sometimes it even IS a middle of the night – some of us work night shifts! And at that ridiculous time you have to rush to work with this nagging constant fear of being late and being told off like a little child late for school. Some of us are not morning people and would work ten Times more efficiently when given the chance to decide – but we don’t have that chance

2) You Decide When You Take a Holiday and How Many Holidays You Take

When you work for yourself, you can take a breat whenever you feel it’s right or whenever you feel you need one. You can take holidays when the business is slow or you can take them simply because you found a great last minute offer. The point is – you don’t need to ask.

When you work for someone else, not only do you need permission to take holidays – you might even not get it! They’ll say it’s the most busy period or someone else is already taking a holiday of your dreams somewhere. The point is – you’re not going! Nevermind that your kids are off school and your partner has been approved for holiday. Your boss only cares about the business priorities, not yours. And if they clash, you know who’s gonna win.

3) You Decide How Much You Earn.

When you’re self employed, you decide which jobs to take on or how much work to put into a certain project. You can work as much (or as little) as you please. The more work and effort you put into your business, thebigger your earnings will be.It can be quite motivating.

When you work for someone else, you have no power to decide on your own salary – it is already decided and set in stone. You can work your ass off and it still either doesn’t matter at all or matters very little when it comes to your profits. You rarely get paid as much as you deserver and that leads to frustration. They tend to ignore it when you’re working extra hard on something and yet they notice right away when you happen to slow down or make a mistake.

4) You Choose Your Place of Business.

When you’re your own boss, your office can be your own house. You can work on your laptop in a car or you can go to the beach on a sunny day and do some work there. Or you can just work from your bedroom and never leave the house when the weather is gloomy.

When you work for someone else you run around in a traumatic rush just to get somewher you don’t even wanna be. You don’t have any say in where you work or even what the work conditions are like. You can be too warm or too cold, you can feel really uncomfortable at your desk, have not enough light or you might prefer to listen to some music when working – noone cares what you like. You have to do as you’re told and where you’re told to do it.

5) You Get To Choose and Like What You Do For a Living.

When you start your own business, you decide what it is and it usually is something that you chose because you are interested in it or you feel you’d be good at. Because of this you can enjoy your job and stop having this nagging feeling you’re wasting your life away doing something boring and meaningless that makes you miserable. And the best part is that the fruit of your work is yours fully to profit from.

When your work for someone else, you are quite lucky if you don’t simply hate what you do. And even if you don’t – you still do it for someone else and in a way that someone else wants you to do it. In the end, you spend the majority of your awake time in there. And the best years of your life eventually. So you should ask yourself if this is actually the way you want to spend all this time. To put all your creativity and effort to make someone else rich, while your cut is only enough to pay the bills etc.

6) You Spend More Time With Family And Friends Rather Than Wasting It With Co-workers.

When you work for yourself, you can work around your family commitments and as a result, u get to spend so much more time with your loved ones. No more missing kids’ activities at school or friends’ get togethers, just because you can’t leave work. You can always finish some other time or even later in the evening. In fact, you can work all day while being with your family in the same time.

When working for someone else you actually end up spending more time with your co-workers than you do with the people you want to spend it with like family and friends. And the sad part is that many of us don’t even like our co-workers. Again – noone cares what you like in your work place.

7) Noone Can Ever Fire You!

When you are your own boss you are not going to fire yourself no matter what you have done or not done:) There’s never a thought in your mind that someone’s not happy with what you’ve accomplished or that there’s someone else after your position As long as you earn profit, your livelyhood is secure FOREVER!

Being your own boss sounds really great doesn’t it? I believe that self-employment is the general future the world is going towards. Everyone should be able to value and price their own services and provide them in the best way they can and perform them in the friendly environment they feel comfortable in. Sometimes we start working for someone else out of pure desperation and while it does pay our bills (most of the times) we feel deep down we’re capable of so much more. And life’s too short to feel like that!

I’ve just spend a lot of time writing down the reasons why you should start working for yourself and I believe in each one of them, but I also want to be objective so I also posted my honest list of CONS of being self employed HERE as well.

Morning Brain Rush

Did you know that your brain is actually bigger in the morning?

Scientists are basically unanimous – our brain functions much better in the morning. We’re more creative and we have much more will power to do whatever the job we decided to do.

Your brain LOVES mornings!

It is very easy to motivate yourself to do any task when you’re well rested. In fact, some studies suggest that our brain is actually a little bit bigger in the morning than it is later in the day.

brain

I am no scientist, but I do see those symptoms in my own life and behaviour.

In the morning I am so much more inclined (and even willing) to clean up my house, to write an article, to learn something that I have been postponing for ages. The very same jobs approached in the evening, literally make me cringe

Of course, when you wake up you don’t really feel that eager to do anything, not straight away. But as you’ve had your coffe or breakfast (depending on your morning routine), you will slowly start feeling that natural rush of energy to make changes, to improve stuff. It is science and it is beautiful.

As the day passes by , of course you get more and more on your mind and it starts slowing down. Especially that obviously you use it more during the day, than during the night. Just like a battery that has been in use for full day, the percentage is dropping and that is why you need to recharge it by sleeping at the end of your working day. That is also why you don’t really feel like vacuuming or cleaning your windows at 11 pm.  You are however more likely to do it on your weekend mornings, without feeling miserable and unhappy about it:)

Why do I feel like crap in the morning then?

That’s a very good question – assuming we’re not talking illness, cold or hangover, you SHOULD feel that good. Why don’t you then?

The answer is easy – because you work for someone else. And because you have to get dressed, go out and be in a certain place at a certain time whether you like it or not, which makes your brain to rebel against the lack of freedom. Every person has a desire of freedom and when they have to do stuff against their will, the brain is not going to feel ecstatic about it.

You don’t do anything to improve your own interests when you’re preparing reports for your boss or when you’re piping someone else’s house or selling someone else’s merchandise to some other people. And deep down you know that no matter how good you try, your personal situation will not change in any way as a result of what you do at work, so you don’t have your very own goal, your motivation.

I have noticed that ever since I stopped working full time, I do get that energy rush in the morning- I do a lot of cleaning, a lot of internet work and research and I have started earning online, more and more every month.

So not only you’re not getting your natural morning brain rush, because of your job – you are in fact WASTING it on fulfilling goals that are not yours and making someone else riche rather than making yourself rich!

If you write that report and it’s brilliant, you’ll get a tap on the head or a good word (or a tiny payrise if you’re lucky) that will not really change a thing in your life. If you wrote the same report or an article for your own website or business, you’d get the real profit from it instead.

Is it worth to waste my brain rush on someone else?

A simple question really.. And the answer is obvious.

So how can I change my life and use my full brain potential?

Wealthy Affiliate Tips and Mistakes

Since I have created a similar posts for my other two recommended money making websites, I thought it’s time for a Wealthy Affiliate one as well (to get to the actual Wealthy Affiliate Review page click HERE)

piggy bankSo without beating around the bushes here are my tips for new users

1)  Be patient

That is the most important piece of advice anyone can give you. It is a slow and timeconsuming proces to build up your website to a point where you start making enough money to live off it. But if you are patient and hard working it will happen. The worst thing you can do is to give yourself too little time to try this. I’d say an absolute minimum to start seeing ANY profit is 2 months and to start making REAL profit at least 6 months. If you cannot wait that long, you might as well not start at all. But then again, what have you got to lose?

2) Stick to one website at first

You can have two free websites (and 25 if you decide to go Premium) but it is valid that in first few weeks you stick to one course of action and one website, because it is a lot to grasp at first and even thought eventually it feels like a piece of cake, at first you need all your focus in one place without any distractions. This is something I wish someone told me in time as I consider my creating 2 websites at once a major setback in my first month. But well, no harm done.

3) Stick to the training

You can be a bit overwhelmed with the amount of training materials, classrooms, post etc that you get hit with when you register. It seems like there’s so much you don’t know where to start. Luckily it tells you exactly where to start. There are two different main courses. Each one of tchem will guide you by the hand assuming you have absolutely no idea or experience, so don’t worry. Just choose one of the two courses and go throught the lessons in right order and everything will make perfect sense even if you have never ever dealt with anything like this before.

4) Get your own domain

This advice only concerns you if you decide to go Premium. Basically, after few weeks you know if you love the idea of Wealthy Affiliate or not. Same with thewebsite you’ve built with their training – you know exactly if you’re feeling it or not. If you are then getting your own domain is definitely the way to go. Firstly – it only costs around 14 dollars a year. Secondly, affiliate programs treat you more seriously when you have your own domain, And thirdly – goole will rank you better and quicker than when you’re using a subdomain and google rankings are going to be an important part of your business.

5) Always put your main focus on the content

Your website is your business card, your advertisement and your trademark. That means that you need to publish interesting articles and/or reviews and make people interested in your website. You also have to publish quite regularly for the search engines to rank you well. You will learn all about how to get ranked better by keywords, which is also very important, but you always have to remember that your content is everything. If you struggle with writing all of it yourself, you can always use a very good and cheap service called HireWriters –  read a full Review HERE

6) Try Jaaxy

Finally you should definitely put a lot of your focus on keywords. Keywords are yet another thing that matters in gogle rankings and searches and it is essential to be able to find and identify the best keywords to put in your website. There is areally good keyword search platform called Jaaxy. You can try it for FREE even now without registering to Wealthy Affiliate. Just type in your searched phrase that you think might be a good keyword (something that people might search for online)  into the below search tool and then register your email details and you’ll be able to get a glimpse on how Jaaxy works
